La Calendula restaurant

The restaurant la Calendula, attached to the hotel Del Teatre, is located in the medieval village of Regencós, in the heart of the Costa Brava and of the Empordá region, in the midst of nature, between sea and mountain. Its chef Iolanda Bustos has just began this new venture, after running during six years a successful restaurant of the same name in Girona. Together with her staff, she offers a distinctive and creative cuisine, which uses the best local products and particularly a great variety of wild herbs, roots and flowers, which she gathers daily, in order to create a landscape in every dish.

Born in the Empordá, Iolanda blends traditional recipes with an avant-garde concern for nature and the environment, making use of the wealth of local raw materials and exalting their natural flavours. The King Bacchus wine bar and the restaurant’s cave offer a wide selection of the best local wines. The interior decoration was designed by the Tres Trastos Studio, who created a comfortable and relaxed, yet elegant atmosphere inside. But in nice weather, the terrace allows one to enjoy a meal surrounded by plants and flowers, listening to the numerous birds that come every spring to Regencós to nest. The restaurant la Calendula is open every day for lunch and dinner from Easter to October and during week-ends and feast days in November and December.
